Ex-MP Nadvi placed on two-day remand in Ctg murder case

A Chattogram court has placed former Awami League lawmaker from Chattogram-15 constituency Abu Reza Mohammad Nezamuddin Nadvi on a two-day remand in a murder case.

Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Bakar Siddique passed the order on Sunday morning.

Meanwhile, he was produced before the court in the morning amid tight security. He was later taken back to prison.

According to the case documents and court sources, Faisal Ahmed Shanto, an activist of Islami Chhatrashibir, was shot dead during the anti-discrimination movement in Muradpur area on July 16 last year. Later, Jamaat Ameer Mahbubul Hasan filed the case with Panchlaish Police Station.

A five-day remand was also sought for Abu Reza Mohammad Nezamuddin Nadvi in the murder case filed with Panchlaish Police Station. After the hearing, the court granted a two-day remand.

On December 15 last year, Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) arrested former MP Abu Reza Mohammad Nezamuddin Nadvi from Uttara in the capital.
