Two children were killed and another one was injured when a truck rammed into a bicycle on Maizdi Natun Hat road in Sadar upazila of Noakhali district.
The deceased were identified as Arafat, 6, son of Abul Kalam of Faridabad village and Asma Akter, 6, daughter of Saddam Hossain of Baikunthapur village.
The accident occurred around 8 am when the sand-laden truck hit the bicycle of Abul Kalam when he along with the three children were heading towards Darussalam Islamia Alia Madrasha, leaving three injured, said Muktar Hossain, sub-inspector of Sudharam Model Police Station.
Later, they were taken to Noakhali General Hospital where the doctors declared the two children dead. Police could not arrest the truck driver as he managed to flee the scene.
