SJA hosts Iftar and Doa Mahfil to mark Ramadan sanguinity

On the occasion of the sacred month of Ramadan, Shariatpur Journalists’ Association (SJA), Dhaka hosted an Islamic discussion, Iftar and Doa Mahfil on Monday at Economic Reporters' Forum (ERF) office in the capital.

The event was graced by President of Shariatpur District Unit of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Shafiqur Rahman Kiron, as the chief guest.

Speaking as the chief guest has called on everyone to remain united. He said, “Life becomes beautiful when lies stop. We must fear the fire of hell. If we all give Zakat according to our ability, then there will be no discrimination in society.”

Renowned pediatrician and Secretary General of the National Doctors Forum, Professor Dr. Md. Mahmud Hossain, emphasized the importance of building a life in the light of Islam, the religion of peace, the Quran and Hadith.

Professor Dr. Mahmud Hossain said, success will come if we live your life according to the rules and regulations of Ramadan.

President of Bangladesh Insurance Forum and Managing Director of Popular Life Insurance Company Ltd BM Yousuf Ali called for neutral and objective news in the interest of the country and the nation.

A special prayer was held for the peace of the world Muslim Ummah and the well-being of the country and the nation. The prayer was led by President of SJA Habibur Rahman Polash. Later, the association members and guests had iftar together. The pre-Iftar discussion was presided over by General Secretary of SJA Obaidullah Mamun.

Former additional secretary of the government Abdul Awal Howlader, Proprietor of Motex Group Mohammad Mohammad Masud Kabir Rana, Vascular Surgeon Professor Dr. AK Ziaul Haque, Managing Director of Scholars Developers Limited Md. Shamim Mahbub, founder of the SJA and former president of Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU) Rafiqul Islam Azad, former president of SJA Benzir Ahmed, Mozammel Haque Chanchal were also present on the occasion.
