A middle-aged farmer was killed by a lightning strike at the village Hatbarenga Moddya Para under Purbadhala upazila in the district on Saturday (29 April) evening.
Quoting local people, the Officer-in-charge (OC) of the Purbadhala police station, Saiful Islam told a news agency that the victim was identified as Mohammad Mustafa, 50, son of Ahmed Hussain of the village Hatbarenga Moddya Para.
Mustafa was expired on the spot when a thunderbolt hit him as he was picking up a straw from his house premises during the rainfall for feeding his cows.
