Absence of a paved road at Pouragaon Union in Nalitabari Upazila of the district bordering India, seriously hampers communication, causing immense problems for residents of the area.

Locals, including ethnic people, are suffering daily. The residents have demanded that this road be cemented to reduce their communication hardships.

According to sources, the road spans approximately 2.5 kilometers, starting from Barmari Christian Mission Road and extending to Adharupara Mouja in the north.

It serves over 300 people from 50 families residing in Khalchanda Village, another 35 families with over 200 members in the neighboring cluster village, and forty more families with over 300 members in Andharupara Village. In total, more than 1,000 people use this road regularly.
They rely on it to transport their crops to Baromasi Bazar and for purchasing essentials. Additionally, it is a route used by children from Koachpalli.

The road witnesses’ heavy traffic with hundreds of transports, including sand-laden trucks, lorries, easy bikes, and motorcycles, moving on it daily.

The road's condition deteriorates during the rainy season, becoming clayey, and sandy during the dry season. Without cementing the road before re-opening the Border Haat, the present communication difficulties will exacerbate.

Sree Ramesh Koach, Parimol Koach, Anil Koach, Ranjit Koach, and Julfikar Ali Bhutto from Khalchanda Village reported that due to the movement of overloaded sand trucks from the Chellakhali River, puddles have formed on the road between Khalchanda and Andharpara.
During this rainy season, water has accumulated in these holes, obstructing the movement of vehicles and making it challenging to transport patients to the hospital. They strongly urge authorities to cement this 2km road.

Nalitabari Upazila Engineer, Rakiqul Hasan Rakib, confirmed that a proposal has been sent to the relevant authorities to metalize the Khalchanda Koachpalli road. Once approved, the work will commence.

(The Khalchanda Kochpalli road at Pouragaon Union in Nalitabari Upazila of the district bordering India has turned deplorable.)
