The road in Faridpur's Saltha, which connects South Fukra Eidgaon Maidan on Saltha-Sonapur road to the switchgate through Rangardia village, is in deplorable condition. The road spans approximately three kilometers with a width of 12 feet. It's riddled with broken sections, exposed soil, and becomes treacherously muddy during rainfall, rendering it nearly impassable on foot.

In Bara Bangrail village of the same union, the road to the graveyard and madrasa faces a similar fate, often succumbing to waterlogging even with minimal rainfall, causing significant hardships for residents and students alike.

Both these roads serve as vital arteries for around 35,000 families across two villages, facilitating travel to Upazila Sadar, Saltha, and District Sadar Faridpur. Unfortunately, despite their importance, these roads have seen little maintenance.

Residents report that Barabangrail village's road was constructed years ago, yet it has remained neglected. In 2005, the crucial Rangardiar road was built and covered with bricks in 2011. However, no further renovation efforts have been made since then. Within a short time, the road deteriorated significantly due to heavy truck traffic transporting bricks for the construction of Molla Bari Mosque in Rangardia village.

Khairuzzaman Babu, the UP Chairman of Salthar Sonapur Union Parishad, expressed concern over the dire condition of Rangardia road, emphasizing its importance in the densely populated area. He mentioned that the development project for this road had been temporarily halted but would resume soon.

Abu Zafar Miah, an engineer from Salthar Local Government Ministry, revealed that a project has recently been initiated for the construction of essential infrastructure connecting Rajbari to Faridpur. This project encompasses the improvement of Rangardia road, with plans to asphalt the road, repair culverts, and potentially raise its elevation where needed.
