A floating children's park is currently being constructed in Khulna, an industrial city. The Khulna Zilla Parishad has initiated this project with an estimated cost of Tk 50 crore. The motivation behind this initiative stems from the absence of a proper children's entertainment park in the city.

The project, named the 'Veer Muktijodha Sheikh Harunur Rashid Community Center and Children's Park,' has already been submitted for local government approval. The park will be situated in the Mahesherapasha area of Daulatpur within the city.

The park's design is intriguing, as it will occupy approximately two and a half acres of land. Currently, there is a pond owned by the Zilla Parishad at this location, which will be transformed into a floating pond to accommodate the park's construction. The park's community center and restaurant will be built underground.

The park will offer modern children's rides, walking paths, water seating areas, boating facilities, shelters for rainy weather, restaurants, community centers, parking facilities, and modern street lighting. A CCTV security system will also be established by the Zilla Parishad.

S.M. Mahbubur Rahman, the administrative officer of the Zilla Parishad, presented the park's design during a meeting, which received enthusiastic support. The initial cost estimate is around Rs 52 crore, pending approval from the ministry. However, the cost may change due to potential design modifications.

Zilla Parishad Chairman Sheikh Harunur Rashid is optimistic that the park will be a valuable asset to the people of Khulna, offering entertainment for children and various amenities for visitors. It is anticipated that the project will receive approval by September of next year.
