During a drive against the fishermen those who trying to netting Hilsha fish in ban time in the river Meghna a team of law enforcement agencies lead by a Magistrate seized about 20 thousands meter of nets worth about tk over one crore three boats and arrested four fishermen in the river Meghna on Thursday (26 October).
Some fishermen tried to fishing in the river Meghna denying government ban order of fishing Hilsha fish while riverine police conducted a drive in the river Meghna and arrested four fishermen and seized nets and two fishing boats.
Later the nets were set on fire two boats sold in open tender and Magistrate fine tk 12 thousand of two fishermen and two under aged childs were set on free.
During the time law enforcers conducted campaigns against the fishing of Hilsha fish during the 22days ban time for safe breeding in hat bazzars and in the river bank of the Meghna and Tetulia regularly.
