19-year-old student dies as motorcycle hits tree in Kurigram
A 19-year-old college student died after his motorcycle lost control and hit a tree in the Kamar Haila area on the Jatrapur-Ghogadah road in the Sadar upazila of Kurigram on Thursday (26 October) morning.
The deceased was identified as Lutfar Rahman of the Nowanipara area of Jatrapur union.
According to family sources, the incident happened when Lutfar was going to Ghogadah Bazar and, on the way, his motorcycle lost control and hit a tree.
Later, locals rescued him and took him to Kurigram General Hospital, where doctors referred him to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
He died there in the afternoon while undergoing treatment, said Jatrapur Union Parishad Chairman Md Abdul Gafur.
Masudur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Kurigram Sadar Police Station, said, "We heard that a college student died in a road accident."
