Miscreants set a bus and truck on fire in separate incidents in Chattogram district on Wednesday (1 November) during the ongoing nationwide three-day blockade enforced by the BNP, Jamaat and like-minded opposition parties.
Zahedur Rahman, duty officer of Rangunia Fire Service and Civil Defence, said miscreants set a truck on fire on Chattogram-Kaptai Road in Rangunia upazila in the morning.
On information, a firefighting unit rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze. Picketers in support of the blockade also put up barricade on the road by placing logs.
Meanwhile, a bus was set on fire at Bhellapara crossing in Karnaphuli area of Chattogram city at 8 am.
The second day of the blockade is underway today with incidents of violence and arson attacks.
