In the upscale neighborhood of Gulshan Banani, a suburban enclave near the capital, authorities have uncovered a formidable gang comprising 13 individuals, with four among them being women. Infamously recognised as the "Ladygang," their primary enterprise revolves around providing a multitude of women's services throughout Dhaka city. Disturbingly, the syndicate is alleged to engage in the surreptitious recording of intimate moments with their clients.

Exploiting the vulnerability of their victims, who often hail from diverse social strata, the Ladygang ensnares them in a web of manipulation. Subsequently, the group employs nefarious tactics to extract substantial sums of money from their targets. This involves leveraging compromising videos, filmed without consent, as a means of coercion. The victims find themselves ensnared in a distressing cycle where their social standing is at stake.
The modus operandi includes the Ladygang's strategic use of social media platforms, notably Facebook, to extort exorbitant amounts from the hapless victims. The threat looms large as the gang menaces to release the explicit videos on prominent platforms such as YouTube and other media outlets, perpetuating a relentless cycle of blackmail.

In a significant breakthrough, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police has successfully apprehended a notorious criminal syndicate known as "Chaiti," involved in the illicit supply of approximately 6,000 women. Beyond their insidious human trafficking operations, this nefarious group has been implicated in a multifaceted criminal enterprise that includes the extortion of clients, resulting in the pilfering of substantial sums, amounting to crores of taka.

According to insights provided by the detective police, the Chaiti gang has operated with impunity across the entirety of the capital, extending its reach to prominent neighborhoods such as Gulshan-Banani. The group's activities have cast a dark shadow over the city.

The Chaiti gang's modus operandi not only involves the heinous act of trafficking women but also extends to coercive tactics against clients. Through a combination of blackmail and intimidation, they manage to siphon off significant financial resources from their victims. This criminal enterprise has left a trail of victims grappling with both the physical and emotional consequences of their ruthless actions.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Additional Commissioner, Harunur Rashid, has made a resolute statement regarding recent arrests, affirming their commitment to bringing all such criminal gangs in Dhaka city under the full force of the law. Ongoing intelligence operations are being conducted to identify and apprehend any remaining elements involved in illicit activities.

A comprehensive investigation has unveiled the ringleader of the gang responsible for the supply of women – a formidable woman known as Hasi, widely recognised as the leader of the notorious "Ladygang." The epicenter of their illicit operations has been traced to a house at number 55 in Gulshan 2, concealed behind a massage parlor.

The criminal activities orchestrated by Hasi and her associates span various establishments, including hotels, clubs, and other prominent venues across the city. Their primary modus operandi involves creating traps to supply women to individuals with insidious intentions, cutting across different strata of society.

Apart from Hasi, the investigation has identified key players in this illicit network, including Ratna, situated above Hotel on Gulshan 2, Eva on Road 130 in Gulshan 1, and Sultana above Khushbu Restaurant on Road 131. These individuals are implicated in the organised provision of women.

The syndicate's reach extends to different locations, including Quddus of RM Center above Gulshan 1, Shah Alam next to Robi Customer Care in Gulshan 1, Nurul Islam next to Lab Aid in Gulshan 2, Bahar of 99 Road in Gulshan 2, Nayan near Sharif Melamine showroom at the Gulshan 2 roundabout, Milon on Road No. 28 in Gulshan 2, Shaon on Road No. 92 of Gulshan-2, Pappu on Road No. 130 of Gulshan-1, and Payal of Road No. 92/B in Gulshan-1. Remarkably, all of these individuals operate massage parlors.

The core activity of this syndicate involves the nefarious business of supplying women from Gulshan-2 to various parts of Dhaka city. Disturbingly, their operations extend beyond human trafficking, as they are also implicated in the illegal trade of Yaba and Phensydil.

It is revealed that the syndicate, in addition to individual pages on social media, employs numerous brokers to facilitate its operations. These brokers play a pivotal role in connecting the syndicate with potential clients and expanding their reach across various establishments.

The syndicate has ingeniously infiltrated different types of accommodations, including houses, residential hotels, rest houses, guest houses, and even various tour packages, to supply clients with companions.

To meet specific demands, the syndicate has further expanded its repertoire by providing drugs upon request.

Moreover, the use of visiting cards with different aliases for entertainment in residential hotels on the streets serves as an additional layer to their intricate network. These cards effectively function as a means for their brokers to establish connections with potential clients, creating a discreet channel for their operations.

The allegations against the syndicate are deeply disturbing, revealing a nefarious operation that preys on individuals' vulnerabilities and exploits their private moments. The modus operandi, involving the provision of hidden cameras during encounters with women, underscores the malicious intent to surreptitiously record intimate moments. Subsequently, the syndicate employs these compromising videos as a tool for extortion, threatening to release them through social media channels.

The victims of this criminal enterprise span various professions, including businessmen, high-level government officials, and even members of the police force. The fear of public embarrassment and societal stigma silences many victims, leaving them helpless in the face of blackmail.

It is alleged that the syndicate is carrying on this immoral business undetected due to its good relations with a section of police officers. They pay a huge amount of money every month to the police for the massage parlour.

Gulshan Police Station OC Mazaharul Islam Khan, in response to recent developments, has asserted the proactive stance taken by law enforcement against the illicit activities of the syndicate. He disclosed that recent raids led to the arrest of 32 individuals from two identified centers,. OC Mazaharul Islam Khan reassured the public that the police are resolute in their efforts to combat and eliminate such criminal enterprises.

Furthermore, the OC unequivocally denied any alleged relationship between the police and the syndicate. By disassociating the police force from any collusion, he seeks to dispel concerns of corruption or complicity within the law enforcement agency.

Deputy Commissioner of Gulshan Division Shamim Rifat has provided additional assurance regarding the ongoing efforts to combat immoral activities in the Gulshan Banani area. Emphasising the commitment to curbing such activities, the Deputy Commissioner stated that their operation against immoral activities is in progress and aimed at putting a halt to these illicit practices.
