Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against Riazul Islam and his wife Monika Reza for acquiring wealth through corruption. Jalal Uddin, deputy assistant director of the same office, filed two separate cases at the ACC Jessore district office on Thursday afternoon.

The house of Riazul Islam (34) is in Lohagra upazila of Narail. He is a resident of Shamukkhola (Dakshinpara) village of Noagram Union of Upazila. Currently working at the Siddhirganj office of Titus Gas Transmission and Distribution Company, Narayanganj.

The plaintiff in the case Jalal Uddin told the media that Riazul Islam is a public servant and his wife is a housewife. Preliminary investigation has found that they have acquired wealth illegally through bribery and corruption.

Riyazul Islam has 39 lakh 92 thousand 402 taka and Monika Reza 45 lakh 25 thousand 209 taka has inconsistent assets with known income.

According to ACC's Jessore office sources, Riazul Islam joined Titas Gas as an assistant engineer on April 10, 2016. The case has been filed by reviewing their income accounts from 2016 to 2022. 

While working, the couple bought 136 acres of paddy land in the area of ​​their village home. ACC Deputy Assistant Director Jalal Uddin, the plaintiff in the case, told the media that Riazul Islam and Monika Reza denied the allegations during the ACC's interrogation. They said that they acquired this wealth by borrowing and lending.
