Crime divisions and the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted a 24-hour drive on Tuesday morning against narcotics and arrested 27 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs in various areas of the capital.
Till 6:00 am on Wednesday (15 May), 529 pieces of yaba, 20 grams of heroin, 3 kg of 550 grams of hemp and 100 bottles of contraband Phencidyl were also recovered from their possession.
As part of DMP's regular anti-narcotics operation, they were arrested along with the recovery of narcotics by raiding various areas of the capital under different police stations during the period in question.
A total of 23 cases under the Narcotics Control Act have been registered against the arrested in the concerned police station.
