Former minister Gazi in jail after 6 days remand

The court has sent Golam Dastgir Gazi Vir Prateek, former Minister of Textiles and Jute and chairman of Gazi Group, to prison in the case of killing Roman Mia, a school student of Rupganj during the student movement.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Nusrat Sahara Bithi's court sent him to jail on Friday afternoon after six days of remand. On this day, the police did not apply for remand in any other case against the former MP.

The information was confirmed by court police inspector Abdur Rashid. He said that the Rupganj Thana police applied for a 10-day remand in the case of student Roman Mia's murder in the recent student-public movement, on Sunday, the court granted a six-day remand for interrogation.

After remand today, the court has ordered to send him to jail. Earlier, former minister and chairman of Gazi Group Golam Dastgir Gazi was arrested by law and order forces from his house in Shantinagar of the capital on the night of August 24.
