“The Navy personnel today apprehended four pirates, identified as Feroz Khan alias Monju dacoit, Suja Uddin, Saheed and Nesar from different areas under Kutubdia Upazila of Cox’s Bazar district,” said a release of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) this evening.
“Two foreign pistols, one foreign gun, one locally-made rifle, six cartridges, eight fresh shots, two empty cartridges, two chapattis and some local weapons were recovered from their possessions,” it reads.
Accused in several cases under Narcotics Control Act, the detainees were handed over to Kutubdia police.
Apart from the ongoing special drive in different places under 'In Aid to Civil Power' to implement the directives of the current Interim Government, the Navy force is also patrolling and conducting operations, if necessary, ahead of the Durga Puja, the greatest religious festival of the Hindu community in Bangladesh.
