A Dhaka court has placed ex-prime minister Sheikh Hasina's former private investment adviser Salman F Rahman, ex-law minister Aniusl Haq and two others on a 4-day remand each in a murder case.Judge of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court GM Farhan Ishtiaq passed the order after hearing a petition, said the court's public prosecutor Omar Faruk Faruki.
The other accused are former state minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak, and Trinomul BNP's former president Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury. The defendants' lawyer pleaded for bail but the court rejected it.
According to the case statement, one Parvez Mia sustained bullet injuries in an attack in Jatrabari area of Dhaka on 5 August last year. He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in the afternoon. Later, the victim's mother filed a case with the Jatrabari police station on 29 October against the four accused.
