A Magura court has granted remand for four accused individuals in the widely-discussed child rape case. Magura Chief Judicial Magistrate Abdul Matin issued the order at midnight on Sunday. The main accused, the child's sister's father-in-law, was granted a seven-day remand, while the sister's husband, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law were each granted a five-day remand.

An official involved in the investigation, who spoke on condition of anonymity, stated that although the remand application and other documents were ready, the risk of presenting the accused in court on Sunday was avoided. Protesters had surrounded the court gate throughout the day, demanding that the accused be handed over to them. As a result, the court held the hearing at night.

The family alleged that the child was raped while visiting her sister's house in the Magura suburbs on Wednesday (March 5). Initially, she was taken to Magura Sadar Hospital, but when her condition worsened, she was transferred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital and later to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The child is currently receiving the highest level of medical care at the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka.
