Recently, a video of severing a youth's wrist in Dhaka's Mohammadpur area went viral on social media. Seven youths were arrested by the members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) from Bagerhat district and Mohammadour area in the capital over the incident.
"At first, the gang attacked their targeted victim with sharp weapons and later severed different parts and wrists of him. They recorded all the incident in their mobile phones and posted on Tiktok. The gang has been involved this type of wrong doings for a long time."
ANM Imran Khan, assistant director of RAB's Legal and Media Wing, disclosed these at a press briefing on Saturday (9 September).
He said, "Recently, a video containing cutting off the wrist of a youth in Mohammadpur area went viral on social media through Tiktok. A gang of seven youths was involved in the incident."
Getting an allegation, RAB conducted a drive from Friday to early Saturday and arrested the seven from Bagerhat and Mohammadpur in Dhaka.
The arrested youths are Ahmed Khan, 22, Md Hasan, 24, Md Hanif Hossain Joy, 24, Ramjan, 23, Md Raju, 19, Md Rafidul Islam Rana, 23 and Tusher Hawlader, 23.
