Although the time has been extended, doubts have arisen over the repair of the city's ramshackle buses. Transport workers say the owners don't want to repair the buses and won't take the vehicles on the road when the crackdown starts. Passengers will suffer. One question is why the drive against defective vehicles is not yielding results. It is known that in a recent meeting, the bus owners assured the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) about stopping the movement of unfit buses on the capital's roads. They want time till May 31 to repair these buses. Through a public notice, BRTA has extended the campaign by one more month from July 1. It is known that very few vehicles have been repaired so far after BRTA's announcement.

It has been observed that whenever the administration takes initiative to stop the irregularities in the transport sector, the owners and workers forget their differences and come together. They started an undeclared strike without taking their vehicles down the road. The common people suffered endlessly. Is this going to happen this time? In the past, the authorities have announced to take various measures against rickety vehicles, but in reality, there has not been much benefit. There has been a lot of talk about the movement of unfit vehicles, various statements have been published, sensational reports have also been published. But despite these efforts, the results are not matching, it is also clear in the statements of various authorities. And as a result, the citizens of the capital will not be spared from various sufferings including road accidents. Urban dwellers also lose working hours due to unfit rickety transport. Either serve pollution. How long will this cat-and-mouse game last? Is it the destiny of capital residents to travel in unfit vehicles?

How error-free is the process of providing vehicle fitness in the country, experts have repeatedly raised the question. It is also a question of how much benefit any steps taken in this regard will bring without making the fitness delivery process error-free. Since the fitness of the vehicle is a matter of human life and death, it must be ensured that there are no ghosts inside the vehicle. It is necessary to look into why the projects taken in the past have not been successful in implementing the goal of safe roads. The main obstacles in the implementation of this goal are identified, what needs to be done is also discussed. Everything must be done to make the roads safe. It is needless to say that no matter how many steps are taken to keep corruption alive, it will not bring benefits. Therefore, corruption-free authorities are needed to restore order on the roads. Only then will the residents of this metropolis get some relief.
