In various parts of the country, the public relief activities organized for the flood-affected people are pouring in. Students from various educational institutions of the capital, including Dhaka University, are volunteering under the banner of the anti-discrimination student movement to collect relief and reach different areas of the country.

The anti-discrimination student movement announced the public relief program on Wednesday in the flood situation of the country. On Friday afternoon, it was seen that trucks, bikes, rickshaws, private cars are gathering one after another at the entrance of DU's TSC. Everyone is bringing help in these vehicles. As soon as the vehicles stop, essential items including dry food, dates, medicine, drinking water are being unloaded.

The students had to struggle to handle the booth at the gate of TSC. Students are also trying their best to maintain the collected materials. In addition to cash, people of various classes and professions handed over the amount of relief materials to the anti-discrimination student movement at TSC on August 23, and it took about 50 trucks to carry them.

Workers associated with the anti-discrimination student movement collected public relief at the student-teacher center of Dhaka University for the third day on Saturday to help the flood-affected people. Apart from TSC, students of different residential halls and departments of Dhaka University are also collecting relief in their own way. We applaud the initiative of the students. They handled the traffic on the road a few days ago. And now he is collecting help for the flood affected people on his own initiative in the campus for the needs of the country. Such initiatives have not been noticed in Dhaka University for a long time.

Some people who came to TSC to give relief said that they are relieved to be able to stand by the people at the moment.

They also said that until now relief activities were also under the control of certain groups of people. The party leaders did not allow others to enter the ring. Now that there is no such problem, people are spontaneously participating in relief activities. Relief materials are being collected in various educational institutions across the country.

The role of religious shrine authorities in collecting relief is also commendable. Along with the administration, members of the Army, BGB, Navy, Coast Guard, Police and Fire Service are playing an active role in rescue operations and relief work. The representatives of the anti-discrimination student movement are also setting an example by fulfilling their duties in these works across the country.

During the floods of 1988 or 1998, DU's TSC became a center of relief, but such activities were absent for a long time.

In fact, a significant number of people in the country are affected by floods every year, but the participation of common people in the relief activities was limited. One of the reasons for this was the crisis of people's trust in relief collectors. Now that crisis is over. A few days ago, during the anti-discrimination movement, students from all over the country showed their courage, ability and sincerity, and the countrymen were impressed.

Due to these reasons, the people of the country responded to the call of the students and spontaneously participated in the relief program. Every year we have to deal with various natural disasters. Any major crisis is easier to deal with when everyone comes together regardless of party affiliation.
