Bangladesh's performance in the Test cricket has not always been very good. In the Test, we have been shaky against big teams in Test format. Shanto-led Bangladesh team snatched a great victory against Pakistan by breaking that discredit. Congratulations to the Bangladesh National Men's Cricket Team for Test sweeping Pakistan on their home soil in the Test series. It is also our wish that such success can be brought consistently.
After the historic Test win, the chief advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus called the captain of the team. Nazmul Hussain Shanto, the captain of the national cricket team, called on Tuesday to congratulate him and the team on their historic Test series win against Pakistan. I am hoping that our cricket will go further with the encouragement of the Chief Minister.
Bangladesh beat Pakistan 2-0 in the two-Test series and gave them the bitter taste of a washout. This is their first series win against Pakistan in Tests. The visitors easily chased down the target of 185 runs set by the hosts at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. In all, this is Bangladesh's fourth drubbing of the opposition in Tests. The third Test series won in foreign field. Earlier, Bangladesh defeated West Indies in 2009 and Zimbabwe in 2021. They earned Eighth test won in overseas soil.
The two captains of Bangladesh reached the port of victory slowly and coolly. A former Another present. Former captain Mominul Haque captained the historic victory in New Zealandi. And the current captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto brought the first test win against Pakistan. The entire Bangladesh was looking at the bat of these two with a target of 185 runs on the 5th day in the Rawalpindi Test. They fulfilled everyone's expectations. For the first time since 2009, Bangladesh won two consecutive Tests outside the country.
In 2009, Bangladesh won the series 2-0 against West Indies at their home ground. Shakib Al Hasan became the first captain of the service in Tiger Cricket. Bangladesh crossed the target of 215 runs by scoring 96 runs in Grenada. Which is the most run-chasing victory for Bangladesh so far. Since then, the Tigers have won 6 more Tests outside the country but have never won consecutively. Besides, Bangladesh won three consecutive Tests against Zimbabwe in 2014 on the country's soil. Then again in 2018, the Tigers won two consecutive matches against the West Indies.
Pakistan tour is over. Shanto & Co will tour another neighbor India to play two Tests and three T20Is this month. We want Bangladesh to maintain such performance in this series as well. This win will give the cricketers a lot of confidence. There are veterans like Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan. They are very important in the team for India tour. Hopefully, this culture of winning will continue.
