Consulting firm Sheltech has presented the concept paper for the infrastructure development plan of Rajshahi University (Ru). The cost of this plan has been estimated at 30 billion. The five-year mega development plan will include modernization and construction of various university buildings, residential halls and research institutes.
Sheltech authority made a presentation in the presence of RU Vice-Chancellor Professor Golam Sabbir Sattar at the university on Wednesday in 17 January.
This development activities will include, Administration Building, Bangabandhu Chattar, Zuberi Building, 40 Bed Medical Center.
Moreover, the science and engineering and new arts building, repair and reconstruction of Momotaj Uddin Academic Building,
Dr. Muhammad Shahidullah Academic Building, Barendra Research Museum, Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Building, Sheikh Lutfar Rahman Advanced Research Center and Institute of Virology Building, Veterinary and Food Science Building etc.
In addition, the construction of Central Gymnasium, Girls' Gymnasium, Residential Halls for male and female students, Central Market, Transport Complex and repair Sher Bangla Fazlul Haque Hall will be included in this infrastructure development plan.
While presenting the plan, Vice-Chancellor Professor Golam Sabbir Sattar said that it is inevitable to develop Rajshahi University in beautifully for higher education and research in the 21st century. Steps will be taken to finalize and implement this plan in consultation with university stakeholders as soon as possible. The Vice-Chancellor also suggested inclusion of Sheikh Kamal Incubation Centre, Rucsu building, Cultural Centre, Swimming Pool in this plan.
pro vice-chancellor Sultan-ul-islam said the daily messenger, We are taking all necessary steps to implement this plan. We will demand from the government to pass this proposal.
