JnU Officers Association gets new body

The deputy registrar of the physical education centre, Abdul Quader (Kazi Monir), and the assistant registrar of the law department, Md. Kamrul Hassan, have been elected as the president and general secretary of the Jagannath University Officer's Association.

The election was held on Thursday in the central auditorium of the university. The Chief Election Commissioner, Helal Uddin Patwari, announced the result after polling.

After being elected as the president of the Officer's Association, Abdul Quader (Kazi Monir) said, We have worked for the progress of the university and the overall development of the officers. We hope that we will try to maintain those activities in the coming days as well.

Kamrul Hasan, the newly elected general secretary of the association, said, I want to work to establish the fair rights of the officials. I want to work together with the Vice-Chancellor to transform Jagannath University into a smart university.

The other elected members are: Deputy Director of Planning and Development Works Department; Himadri Shekhar Mandal as Vice President; Assistant Controller of Examination Maksudur Rahman Sagar as Joint-Secretary, Assistant Director of Finance Department, Aminul Islam elected as Treasurer, Md. Zakir Hossain as Public and Office Secretary.

Moushumi Acharya as Culture, Literature, and Publication Secretary, and Mohammad Maksud Alam as Action and Social Welfare Secretary. Along with them, Mohammad Ibrahim Mia, Md. Zahurul Islam, and Mohammad Mokhtar Hossain are elected as executive members.
