Mutinous supporters of Habibur Rahman Liton general secretary Jahangirnagar University Chhatra League have initiated a Mass signature campaign to express their dissatisfaction with Liton and demand his resignation.
This campaign began at 4 pm on Saturday (Feb 3) in front of the university transport yard.
During the initiation of the signature campaign, vice-president of the branch Chhatra League, Jahidujjaman Shakil, presented a written statement on behalf of six hall leaders and activists.
He stated that the Bangladesh Chhatra League has played a leadership role in the country's independence and has always stood against injustice. But Habibur Rahman Liton has tarnished the image of Jahangirnagar University Chhatra League and Bangladesh Chhatra League through his tyranny, corruption, and pursuit of personal interests. Therefore, we express our dissatisfaction with him and immediately demand his resignation.
The signature campaign, which started at 4 pm on Saturday, will continue until 5 pm tomorrow (Sunday). According to the latest information, around 70 activists have participated in this campaign till 5 pm today.
Previously, on January 23rd, supporters of the general secretary of six halls declared 'unwanted' on campus due to the failure to form a hall committee, allegations of land grabbing, and six allegations. Since then, supporters of the general secretary have been continuously conducting various campaigns to demand the resignation of the general secretary.
In this ongoing rebellion, activists of Kamal Uddin Hall, Rabindranath Hall, Rafiq-Jabbar Hall, Al Beruni Hall, Mir Mosharraf Hall, and Salam-Barkat Hall are participating.
