The new executive committee of the Law Department Alumni Association of Jagannath University has been announced for the session 2024-2025. All members of the committee were elected through voting by former students in the hall room of the department on Saturday.
Senior assistant judge Mehedi Hasan, second batch student of the department, and member of the Dhaka Lawyers Association, Sumon Hossain, are elected president and general secretary consecutively.
Others elected to the committee are Ariful Islam Rony and Md. Raju Shikder as joint general secretary, Sajjad Hossain Palash as organising secretary; Parul Akhter as women affairs secretary, Beg Shoaib Ahmed as literature, education, and research affairs secretary, Taufikul Hasan as publicity and public relations affairs secretary, Md. Jinnatul Ferdous Jinnah as legal aid and social welfare secretary, and Sujan Mia as sports, cultural, and entertainment secretary.
