In order to increase the importance of research and innovation for the future success of the country, the Government of Bangladesh is going to build a state-of-the-art research and innovation center at Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU) where university teachers and students will get the opportunity to conduct quality research.
Separate MoUs were signed between the EDGE project and 10 government universities, including Patuakhali Science and Technology University, in the conference room of the Enhancing Digital Government and Economy (EDGE) project at Youth Tower, Mirpur on February 6.
At the signing ceremony, the EDGE project will fund good research and innovation to solve problems of national importance, including the establishment of RICs in PSTU.
It should be noted that PSTU has already made a complete skeleton of the country's first hippopotamus and has created a response in the education sector of the country. Also, their research has been making great contributions in the field of agriculture. At such a moment, all students and teachers are excited about the news of building a state-of-the-art research and innovation center.
On this occasion, Secretary of Information and Communication Technology Department Samsul Arefin said, one of the goals of establishing RIC is to produce market-based products and services and to conduct integrated and collaborative research and innovation activities between government, industry and educational institutions to solve nationally important problems. For this, all concerned should come forward.
