Professor Dr. Mohammad Jahangir Hussain of the Department of Islamic History and Culture has been appointed as the Proctor of Jagannath University (JnU) for the next two years.
On Sunday (18 February), this information is given in an office order signed by the registrar of the university, Engineer Md. Ohiduzzaman.
It is said in the office order that, subject to the approval of the syndicate, Professor Dr. Mohammad Jahangir Hussain has been appointed as proctor for the next two years. This order will be effective on February 19. He will be entitled to allowances and other benefits as per the rules.
It is to be noted that, on May 29, 2019, Mostofa Kamal, a teacher in the Islamic Studies department, was given the responsibility of proctor. After his term expired on July 24, 2021, he was asked to serve as proctor for an indefinite period until re-ordered the next day. Since then, he has been serving as the proctor of the University.
