Vice-Chancellor of Jagannath University, Professor Dr. Sadeka Halim, said that Bangladeshi girls are advancing in education, culture, and sports. We have to change our mentality towards women, we have to think of women as human beings. And women and men are not equal, justice must be given.

On Monday (11 March) she spoke at a discussion meeting and cultural program on the occasion of celebrating International Women's Day organized by Jagannath University.

The vice chancellor said we would not have this civilization if there were no women. Men and women have created history together. Bangabandhu respected women a lot. Those women had no family address, and Bangabandhu took Bongomata with him and arranged for their treatment and rehabilitation. My philosophy is Bangabandhu's ideal for the development of women.

The vice chancellor also said that women's contribution to our GDP is only 20 percent. But if we bring the work done by women at home into the satellite count, the contribution of women to GDP is 48 percent.  If I were given the chance again, I would like to be born a woman. Jagannath University has 28 percent female students and 40 percent female teachers. No one can keep them in check.

In the speech of the chief speaker at the event, eminent economist Dr. Salim Jahan said, Investing in women never fails. Investing in women includes promoting women's equality, empowerment, and opportunity. And not only invest in women, but also invest in men. And thus, investment progress will accelerate.

He also said that our daughter became the SAAF champion a few days ago. But we see news of men's salary disparity with their salaries on newspaper pages. We say women hold up half the sky. Let the woman hold the whole sky instead. We men and women will be better off under that sky.

At the speech of the special guest, treasurer of the university, Professor Dr. Md. Humayun Kabir Chowdhury, said that eight thousand years ago, the world was ruled by women. Later, when the rule of strengthband came, the rule of muscle came, and then the rule of men came.

But the fourth industrial revolution does not need muscle; it needs talent. As a student of consumer psychology, I believe that women rule. I wouldn't be surprised if, 50 or 100 years from now, there is a day called International Men's Day.

In the second phase of the program, a cultural program was held with the participation of the teachers and students of the various departments. Deans of various faculties of the university, directors of institutes, departmental chairmen, teachers, and students were present on the occasion.
