On Friday (22 March), the Khulna University Alumni Association organized special prayer and iftar gatherings in eleven places around the country. These gatherings happened at the same time in Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Jessore, Satkhira, Narail, Cox's Bazar, Jhenaidah, and Chuadanga.
The largest iftar gathering took place in front of the Khulna University guest house, where more than seven hundred former students met up.
Ahsan Habib Shimul, who's in charge of organizing the iftar events, chaired the gathering, and Akter Hossain, the General Secretary of the Khulna University Alumni Association, was the main guest. Akter said it was great to see so many people joining in across the country. He hoped that these gatherings would become a tradition, bringing former students together every year. Also the public relation secretary, Dr. Md. Azizul Hasan Piru, welcomed everyone with a friendly speech.
Apart from the alumni, teachers, and officials from the Khulna University Alumni Association, many former students also attended the prayer and iftar. There was a special booth where people could sign up to become members of the Alumni Association by paying a fee and filling out a form.
