An Iftar Mahfil was organised on March 22, 2024, at the university auditorium by the faculty and students of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Jahangir Alam, who presided over the event.
The vote of thanks was delivered by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University, Advocate Liaquat Sikder. Engineer Delwar Hossain Majumder, Chief Engineer of the Education Engineering Department, attended as the chief guest, while Engineer Kazi Khairul Bashar, Vice President of the Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB), was honored as the special guest. Additionally, esteemed guests such as Engineer Shahnewaz Chowdhury, Engineer Mainul Islam, Engineer Mofizul Islam, Professor Dr. Sheikh Md. Mominul Alam, advisor of the university's Textile Engineering Department, and Hamidur Rahman, advisor of the EEE Department, were also present member of the Board of Trustees of the University, Golam Sarwar Kabir, graced the occasion and extended his heartfelt wishes for a blessed month of Ramadan to everyone present.
Chief Guest Engineer Delwar Hossain Majumdar highlighted the significant number of students studying in our country, surpassing the total population of many nations. He pointed out the economic advancements made by neighboring India, where citizens also contribute to global tech giants like Facebook, Twitter, and Google. He emphasised the need for self-improvement to retain capital within our own country, reducing the outflow of funds abroad.
Special guest Engineer Kazi Khairul Bashar urged students to prioritise skill-based education and training, recognising its importance in personal and professional development.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam advised all faculty and students of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology to engage in cutting-edge research, emphasising innovation and advancement in their respective fields.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Advocate Liaquat Sikder, reiterated the Board's commitment to providing maximum support to maintain the quality of education and to elevate the university to a symbol of excellence in education and research.
