Independence Day Tamed at Khulna University

She said we shouldn't forget about the past. This is something our kids should know. The pictures show what life was really like back then. Kids do not learn only by reading; they can also learn more by watching.

On Tuesday (26 March), a day-long photo exhibition was held in front of Adamya Bangla of Khulna University on the occasion of the Great Independence and National Day. Where pictures of different times of the liberation war are displayed.

On this day, a discussion meeting was held in the Acharya Jagdish Chandra Bose Academic Bhavan's Journalist Liaquat Ali Auditorium.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mahmood Hossain spoke as the chief guest in the meeting. He said that the Freedom War of 1971 was the last way that Bangladesh could be free. But before this, since 1757, there have been times in history when people fought for freedom. In 214 years, we failed to gain independence. However, we did so under the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who is known as the "father of the nation" and the best leader of all time. The vice chancellor added, "We have got freedom, but we have not yet achieved what we mean by final liberation - building a Bangladesh without hunger, poverty, and discrimination." He also said that the next generation will be patriotic if they learn about the country's fight for freedom and the lives lost in the independence war.

 The special guests of the Independence Day meeting were the Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mosummath Hosna Ara, Treasurer Prof. Amit Roy Chowdhury, and Registrar (Acting) Prof. Khan Golam Quddus.

Under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Kamrul Hasan Talukder, dean of Science, Engineering, and Technology School, the Dean of Arts and Humanities School Prof. Dr. Md. Ruble Ansar briefed the welcome speech in the meeting.

Professor Dr. Tarun Kanti Bose, Vice President of the Teachers' Association, General Secretary of Officers' Welfare Parishad Shahidul Alam Howladar, and student of the printmaking discipline Shafin Imtiaz Shihab also spoke at the meeting.

Assistant Director of Student Affairs, Farzana Zaman, moderated the programme.

At that time, the dean of various schools of the university, heads of disciplines, teachers-students, and officials-employees were present.

 Among other programmes, the national flag was hoisted in front of the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Administration Building at 6 a.m., the sculpture of the War of Liberation of Khulna University was placed in the procession, the Vice-Chancellor paid homage, a day-long photo exhibition, a doa mahfil, and prayers were organised
