National phase of the first Bangladesh AI Olympiad ended on Sunday (19 May) at Dhaka University selecting ten students primarily for the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence-IOAI to be held in Bulgaria on August 9-15. “From 45 participants, selected earlier across the country, ten students have been qualified for the national camp. Among them, four will get a final ticket for Bulgaria based on performance in the national camp”, said a press release.  

The selected 10 students are- Abrar Shahid, Misbah Uddin Inan, Adib Bin Qadir, Ashabul Yameen Arjan, Md. Manjum Rahman, Mohammad Saad, Rafid Ahmed, M Sabib Abdullah, Tauseef Wahid Suprav and Arefin Anwar.

In the national phase competition, each student had to solve four problems of artificial intelligence with a timeframe of four hours.

From the ten students, four will be finally selected through the national camp for the competition for the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence.

The result was announced at the closing ceremony which was attended by DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Professor Dr. Sitesh Chandra Bachar as chief guest and Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Technology Professor Dr. Hafiz Md. Hasan Babu as special guest.
