The principal of Govt. Michael Madhusudan Collage, Jashore (MM College) Professor Morzina Akter has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Jashore. This order was issued by the Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education on the order of the President on Thursday (30 May).
The appointment was announced through a notification issued on Thursday, signed by Chowdhury Samia Yasmin, deputy secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division under the Ministry of Education.
This is the first time a woman has been appointed as the chairman of the board since its establishment in 1963.
On May 12 of this month, Jessore Education Board Chairman Professor Dr. Md. Ahsan Habib retired. Morzina Akter succeeded him.
Prior that Professor Morzina Akter was the Head of the Department of Economics at Jessore Government Women's College. From there, she was posted as the vice-principal of Govt. Michael Madhusudon Collage, Jashore on November 29, 2021. She joined the college as Principal on March 8, 2022.
