Demanding cancellation of quota in government jobs, Students of Dhaka University blocked the Shahbagh intersection in the capital on Tuesday (2 July). The blockade started at 3:45 pm.
Students first gathered in front of the central library of the university at 2.30 pm.
Later, about 2,000 students carried out a procession that went around different residential halls and then the Nilkhet intersection.
From there, they reached the Shahbagh intersection through New Elephant Road and blocked the road.
