Glenrich International School organized ‘GlenQuest Olympiads 2024’ – an exciting and first-of-its-kind event for young minds passionate about Mathematics and English. Tailored especially for Pre-Primary and Primary students with subject-specific Olympiad examinations, more than 500 students across various schools in Dhaka participated in the event with a celebratory spirit of learning together.
The adventure-filled event was held at Glenrich International School, Satarkul, and Glenrich International School, Uttara, Senior Campus (formerly DPS STS School Dhaka).
GlenQuest Olympiads 2024 included Olympiad examinations in English and Mathematics. The assessments comprised multiple-choice questions, with students recording their answers on an OMR (optical mark recognition) sheet. A total of 546 students from Nursery, KGI, KGII, and Grades 1-5 participated in this event from Glenrich and other schools like Scholastica, Manarat, Sir John Wilson, International Hope, Mastermind, Academia, Playpen etc.
A participant from fifth grade, said, “Competing at the Olympiad alongside the brightest minds was a great experience. The event helped ignite my passion for solving problems and allowed me to make new friends. I am thankful to the organizers for allowing me to participate and further inspire me to explore mathematical problems.”
All winners were awarded exciting prizes for their academic excellence. Dr Shivananda C S, Principal of Glenrich International School, Uttara, said, “GlenQuest Olympiads 2024 provided an excellent platform for the young students to showcase their talent and passion for Mathematics and English.
We were thrilled to see students from different schools come together and participate in this event with such unity and grace. Events like these are necessary to foster students critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and English proficiency, which are essential for their future endeavours.”
GlenQuest Olympiads 2024 focused on challenging students to think strategically and solve problems with a holistic approach. The Math Olympiad helped students delve deep into mathematical knowledge using out-of-the-box methods, enabling them to think clearly and logically.
Meanwhile, the English Olympiad allowed them the opportunity to read and understand texts better, tackle complex questions, and showcase their creative writing skills, thereby improving their ability to analyze and apply language effectively. Both the Olympiads motivated students to explore unconventional approaches and devise innovative solutions.
