After five years, the election of Pabna Science and Technology University Teachers Association has been held. Dr. Awal Kabir Joy, the assistant professor of the social work department as the president and Dr. Abdur Rahim, the associate professor Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department has been elected as General Secretary.
Elections has been conducted on Sunday (14 July) from 10 am to 2 pm at the University's Teacher-Officer Club. Professor Dr. Saiful Islam - Professor Dr. Shamim Reza and Dr. Awal Kabir Joy-Dr. Abdur Rahim Panels elected a total of 30 teachers for 15 posts in two panels. Among them, the president and general secretary of Dr. Awal Kabir Joy-Dr. Abdur Rahim panels won 11 seats.
Dr. Awal Kabir Joy-Dr. Abdur Rahim panel’s other members are Dr. Shariful Haque (Vice President), Professor Dr. Noor Alam (Treasurer), Dr. Tahmina Tasnim Nahar (Joint-General Secretary), Dr. Nazmul Islam (Member), Dr. Ashraful Islam (Member), Dr. Nazmul Hossain (Member), Dr. Kamrul Hasan (Member), Dr. Shayla Akhtar (Member).
Professor Dr. Saiful Islam - Professor Dr. Shamim Reza panel’s elected members are Professor Dr. Mir Khaled Iqbal Chowdhury (Member), Dr. Omar Farooq (Member), Dr. Ekramul Islam (Member), Rehana Begum (Member).
After winning the election, the newly elected president Awal Kabir Joy said, 'Thank you to those who voted for me and my panel. Thanks to the Election Commission for arranging such a peaceful election. We will work for the welfare of the university with everyone in the future.'
General Secretary Dr. Abdur Rahim said, 'We are satisfied with the election results. We have worked hard for this election, we got the result today. Our panel has won an absolute victory, we all hope for better things in the future.'
