JU Bangla department chairman Shamima Sultana has been withdrawn Prime Minister photo from her office on Thursday (1 July).
She mentioned "I do not want to keep the picture of a murderer who has the blood of my child on their hands on my wall,"

However, she made this comment after the 'Song Procession' program organized by the anti-discrimination student movement at the university.

Professor Shamima stated, "The streets of Dhaka have been stained with the blood of the brightest minds. I did this as a protest. I feel she (the Prime Minister) is no longer in the hearts of the people of Bangladesh. Since she is not in people's hearts, it makes no sense to have her picture on the wall."

She added, "I agree with the demands of the students. If she (the Prime Minister) accepts the demands of the students, I will respectfully hang her picture on the wall again."

Regarding the matter, JU Registrar Abu Hasan commented, "This is a violation of the law. Anyone who does this is committing a violation. I do not know whether the Vice-Chancellor is aware of this. I have not seen social media due to my busy schedule, so I was not aware of this issue. It is certainly an offense. If known, some action would have been taken by now. We will look into the matter."

It is worth mentioning that on March 27, 2002, a Cabinet Division notification instructed that the portrait of the Prime Minister, as the head of government, be displayed in the office rooms of ministers, various ministries, departments, Bangladeshi embassies abroad, and all autonomous institutions.
