Students at Jagannath University organized a victory procession in celebration of the resignation of Sheikh Hasina, described as an autocratic leader. This event was held under the banner of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.

On Tuesday (6 August), at 3 PM, the procession commenced from the Kathal Tala area of the university, traversed the campus, and passed through Bahadur Shah Park. It concluded at the university's Shanto Chattar, where movement coordinators delivered speeches.

Evan Tahseeb, a leading coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement at Jagannath University, declared, "We have achieved victory after immense sacrifice. We mourn the loss of our comrades Abu Saeed and Mugdha. Sheikh Hasina’s resignation has brought hope to people across the country."

He continued, "Although we celebrate this victory, minority communities nationwide continue to face attacks. Certain groups are attempting to undermine our movement. We must remain vigilant." Masud Rana, another coordinator, added, "Those who have been threatening us and taking screenshots of our Facebook posts will find no place at Jagannath University."

Earlier in the day, following Zohr prayers, a special prayer and milad mahfil were held at the central mosque of Jagannath University. This was organized to honor and seek forgiveness for the souls of those who died in the quota reform movement. The session took place after the Zohr prayers.

Prof Rais Uddin from the Islamic Studies Department commented, "After 16 long years, our country has been freed from oppression. We express our gratitude to Allah for the victory and organize this milad mahfil to pray for the souls of the martyrs who fought against this injustice."

In addition, at 10 AM, an emergency meeting of the BNP-aligned teachers' organization, the Sada Dal, was convened at Jagannath University. The meeting, chaired by Prof Mosharraf Hossain and conducted by General Secretary Prof Rais Uddin, began with a special prayer of gratitude for the country's liberation from oppression and sought forgiveness for those who sacrificed their lives for this cause.
