Miscreants stabbed a Chhatra League worker at Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST).
The incident took place in front of the main gate of the university around 11 am on Sunday (August 18).
The name of the victim BCL worker is Jamiul Islam Himel (24). He is a 4th year student of Information and Communication Engineering (ICE) department. He was a follower of Shehzad Hasan, the former office secretary of the University Chhatra League.
Eyewitnesses said that around 11 am, the BCL worker went to the campus gate to eat from the hall. At that time a boy came and took him towards Farida Tower. Then three other boys joined that boy. Farida then took her to the front of the tower and stabbed her in the hand and leg.
When he got stabbed, his classmates came and first admitted him to the university medical center, later the doctors of the medical center asked his classmates to take him to Pabna Sadar Hospital. Then his classmates admitted him to Pabna Sadar Hospital.
The victim Chhatra League worker said, 'It is true that I was a member of Chhatra League, but I had no conflict with anyone. Still I can't say why he stabbed me. I can't even say whether it has happened because of the Chhatra League.'
In this regard, the proctor of the university. Masud Rana said, 'I heard that one of our students was stabbed in the morning. Later I went to see him. He was first admitted to the University Medical Center, then shifted to Pabna Sadar Hospital. If he makes a written complaint, we will try to find out who was involved in this incident.'
