Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan has been appointed as the 30th Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University. Previously, he served as the chairman of the Development Studies Department at the university.
Dr. Khan has pursued higher education and research at prestigious institutions such as Oxford University, Swansea University in Wales, and the Asian Institute of Technology. His non-affiliation with any political party has earned him positive acceptance among the academic community at Dhaka University.
He has also held significant roles, including Pro Vice-Chancellor of Independent University, Bangladesh, and academic advisor for the BRAC Institute of Governance and Development and the National Defence College. Furthermore, he has experience in managing various organizations, having served as the country representative for several international agencies.
