In light of the devastating floods affecting millions in the eastern regions of the country, the State University of Bangladesh (SUB) has taken proactive steps to assist those in dire need. With twelve districts severely impacted by the disaster, SUB has partnered with the Bangladesh Army to deliver essential relief supplies to flood victims in remote areas.
On Monday, August 26, 2024, SUB officially handed over a significant quantity of relief materials to Comilla Cantonment, which will be distributed among the flood-affected communities. The relief package includes dry food, clean water, saline, medicine, and other critical supplies necessary for survival during this crisis.
The university community has been actively involved in this humanitarian effort. Students and club members from various departments have collaborated with the Bangladesh Army in distributing relief to stranded individuals. Demonstrating further solidarity, the faculty, officers, and staff of SUB contributed one day’s salary on August 24, 2024, to support this initiative.
Looking ahead, SUB remains committed to assisting the affected communities in preventing post-flood humanitarian crises. Additionally, many SUB students have expressed their willingness to volunteer in future flood relief efforts.
