Southeast University Holds Prayer Ceremony for student movement Martyr

In remembrance of Southeast University students who were martyred in the anti-discrimination student movement Martyr Md. Rabbi Mia, Martyr Rakib Hossain, Martyr Imtiaz Ahmed Jabir, and Martyr Robiul Islam Limon, along with all the martyrs across Bangladesh Southeast University organized a discussion and prayer ceremony on September 12 at the university's multipurpose hall.

 The ceremony was presided over by the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, with speeches given by Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. M. Mofazzal Hossain, family members of the martyrs, and the martyrs' classmates.

In a written statement, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Southeast University, Mr. Rezaul Karim, expressed his condolences to the families of the martyrs and the injured. He mentioned that the sacrifice and bravery of the martyrs for the country will continue to serve as an inspiration to all.

The inaugural speech at the event was delivered by Professor Dr. Md. Sirajul Islam, Dean of Southeast Business School and Convener of the event Implementation Committee. The event was presented by the Registrar Maj General Kazi Fakhruddin Ahmed, deans, department heads, faculty members, staff, and students.

Prior to the discussion and prayer ceremony, plaques bearing the names of the four martyrs were unveiled at the university's halls named in their memory.

At the event, each of the four martyrs' families was presented with a check of 10 lakh taka. The event was concluded with a prayer and supplication, led by Dr. Md. Ataur Rahman Miazi, Professor of Islamic History and Culture at Dhaka University.
