Dr. SM Abdul-Awal, professor of Khulna University (KU) Department of Biotechnology and Engineering department has been appointed as 6th Vice-Chancellor of Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST).
This notice was issued by the Department of Secondary and Higher Education Science and Technology University Branch of the Ministry of Education with the approval of the President and Chancellor on Monday (September 23).
According to the notice, he has been appointed for the next four years as per Section 10 (1) of the Pabna University of Science and Technology Act, 2001 with the approval of His Excellency the President and the Chancellor.
As per the conditions mentioned in the notice, he will get salary and allowances equal to his current post as Vice-Chancellor, enjoy other benefits related to the post of Vice-Chancellor as per the rules and as the Chief Executive Officer of the University he will have to stay in the University campus all the time. Besides, the President and the Chancellor can cancel this appointment at any time if necessary.
Professor Dr. SM Abdul-Awal graduated from Khulna University Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering in 2004, completed his Masters in Molecular Biology from Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium in 2009 and Ph.D degree from Churchill College, Cambridge University, UK in 2015
