Over 200 students from Rajshahi University's Mass Communication and Journalism department staged a protest this morning, demanding the fulfillment of their four-point agenda.

The demonstration took place in front of the department at the Rabindranath Tagore academic building around 9 am.

The students' demands include the resumption of the second-year, second-semester exams, which were suspended in mid-July due to anti-quota protests. The exams were initially delayed under the supervision of the then department chair, Professor Mustak Ahmed, who was subsequently suspended following student complaints. Despite the reopening of the university, the exams have yet to be scheduled.

Additionally, the students are urging the department to conduct the second-year, first-semester exams, as many have been stuck in the same semester for nearly a year.

The students are also calling for further investigation and action against Professor Mustak Ahmed, accusing the department of not thoroughly addressing allegations of academic misconduct. Although Professor Mustak has already been suspended over various claims, the students feel more needs to be done.

Their final demand is to reduce session jams, insisting that courses and exams be completed within the four-month timeframe outlined in the academic calendar.

Kamruzzaman Fahad, a student of the department, stated, "We are here to study, but everything except study is happening. We will continue our protest until our demands are met."
