Southeast University celebrates World Pharmacists Day 2024

The Department of Pharmacy at Southeast University, in collaboration with the Southeast Pharmacy Club, celebrated World Pharmacists Day on September 25, 2024, with a rally followed by a discussion session at the university. Professor Dr Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, the university's vice-chancellor, attended the event.

Dr Mofazzal Hossain, Professor Vice Chancellor; Tanbir Ashraf, Country Manager & Managing Director, GSK Bangladesh Limited; Tabassum Sirajam Munira, Technical Advisor—QA/QC, USAID's Promoting the Quality of Medicines Plus (PQM+) Program, U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP); Prof. Dr Hasnat M. Alamgir, Director, CPDS and Professor, Dept. Pharmacy, Southeast University, and other high-ranking officials joined the event.

The speakers delivered insightful speeches emphasising the vital role of pharmacists in healthcare, particularly in patient care, medication management, and health promotion. They highlighted the importance of continuous education and innovation in the pharmaceutical field. Additionally, the talks explored career opportunities for pharmacists in hospital, clinical, and community settings, along with emerging fields such as the food and cosmetics industries.

This occasion brought together the local community, students, faculty, and distinguished guests, creating a memorable event.
