A seminar on earthquake prediction was held at the Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology on Thursday (31 October). CUET’s Institute of Earthquake Engineering Research organised the seminar titled “Earthquake prediction and engineering for seismically safer civil structures” at the seminar hall of the civil engineering department, said a press release.
CUET’s vice chancellor Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan addressed the seminar as chief guest while IEER’s director Professor Dr. Md. Moinul Islam presided over.
CUET’s former VC Professor Dr. Mohaammad Jahangir Alam, dean for faculty of Civil and Environment Engineering Professor Dr. Sudip Kumar Pal, civil engineering department’s head Dr. Aysha Akter, were present as the special guests at the seminar.
