Consumer Youth Bangladesh (CYB) chapter of the Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia, the youth wing of the consumer rights organization Conscious Consumer Society (CCS), announced a 31-member committee led by Tokey Wasif as president, and Niamotullah Munim as secretary, respectively for the next one year.
The president and secretary, are students of the Economic, and the Al-fiqh and Legal Studies department, respectively under the 2019-29 academic session of the university.
A press release was issued in this regard signed by Mohammad Delowar Hossain, the central Media and Outreach Communication on Monday. CCS Executive Director and CYB President Palash Mahmud, and General Secretary Emran Shuvro approved the committee.
Other members of the new committee are- vice president Khandaker Sayem, joint secretary Jannatul Ferdous, organizing secretary Shah Mehedi Hasan, finance secretary Raufullah Khan, office secretary Noor Hossain Rifat, co-office secretary Rubaiya Zaman, media secretary Eidul Hasan, publicity secretary Rakib Hasanat, co-publicity secretary Abdullah Al Noman, literature and cultural secretary Fariha Akhi, co-literature and cultural Secretary Mehedi Hasan, consumer rights secretary Suman Reza, co-consumer rights secretary Moazzem Hossain, international secretary Nafia Yasmin, law secretary Abdullah Kafi, co-law secretary Sharmin Akhtar Rima, women’s affairs secretary Aishi Zaman Mukta, human rights secretary Suman Rana, co-human rights secretary Mehedi Hasan (english).
The executive members’ M Abdullah, Adhuri Tamanna, Afrin Akhtar Mou, Nafiz Azim, Insanul Imam Noor, Mohan Roy, Maliha Mehjabin Swarna, Muhibbullah, Sudakshina Sokal, and Sampa Akhtar.
Professor Dr Maher Ali of the English department, Professor Dr Rashiduzzaman of the Bangla department, Dr. Anisur Rahman of the Law department, Associate Professor Shammy Akter of the Applied Nutrition and Food Technology department, and Assistant Professor Shoriful Islam of the Tourism and Hospitality department are the advisory board of the IU Consumer Youth Bangladesh (CYB) chapter.
However, the non-governmental consumer rights organization Conscious Consumer Society (CCS) has been working since 2013 to prevent adulteration in food and raise awareness about consumer rights in the country. The organization is actively involved with around 12,000 volunteers in 335 upazilas, 61 districts, and 42 major educational institutions in Bangladesh.
