Cardiff International School Dhaka hosted its first-ever grand drama performance at the National Drama Theatre Hall, Shilpakala Academy, under the guidance of its Music and Drama Club. The play, inspired by Rabindranath Tagore's famous poem Birpurush, captivated the audience with its vibrant dramatization of a child conquering fear and setting an example of courage.
The chief guest for the evening was renowned actor and director Azad Abul Kalam, founder of Pracchyonat. Special guests included Mahbub Aziz, Deputy Editor of Samakal; Alpona Akhter, Manager, PR and media of City Bank; Towfiqul Emon, actor-director of Pracchyonat; and Shawon Akond, artist, researcher, and entrepreneur.
The drama was directed by Cardiff’s drama teacher, Parisa Afrose. Md. Abdur Razzaq, Managing Director of Cardiff and JMI Group, delivered the vote of thanks, while Principal Ayesha S. Chowdhury welcomed the guests and expressed her gratitude for their support.
The program started with Tagore’s Song- ‘Anandodhara Bohichhe Bhubone’ accompanied by a mesmerizing dance by the young students. Then the play was staged, where the students of different classes of the school took part. The story depicted a little boy imagining a journey with his mother to a distant land, where he bravely fought off robbers to protect her. The evening was a true celebration of talent, creativity, and cultural appreciation, leaving the audience thoroughly entertained.
