Recently Principal Nurun Nahar Mazumder shared her insights on fostering student growth, empowering teachers, and preparing the next generation to take on real-world challenges while talking to The Daily Messenger recently. The Daily Messenger: How does Scholastica ensure the overall development of its students?
Principal Nurun Nahar Mazumder highlighted Scholastica’s commitment to nurturing students academically, socially, and emotionally. “My goal is to help students reach their full potential by focusing on all aspects of their development,” she said.
She also emphasized the importance of empowering teachers. “Professional development for teachers is very important for creating an updated and healthy learning environment,” she said adding that a safe and respectful school culture, where everyone feels valued, is at the core of her leadership philosophy.

Principal Nurun Nahar Mazumder: Success goes beyond academic achievements. Scholastica encourages students to think critically, develop emotional intelligence, and embrace creativity. We actively seek feedback from students, parents, and staff to ensure we meet their needs reflecting the school’s commitment to continuous improvement. Success for staff means ongoing skill development and collaboration, while for the institution, it involves fostering diversity, inclusion, and a vibrant school culture that values individuality.

Principal Nurun Nahar Mazumder: I feel proud to establish the school’s Student Affairs Department. It’s like my baby. From orientations to awareness programs, it played a pivotal role in building systems that connect and support students. One of the notable achievements has been strengthening the partnership between school and home is bridging the gap through feedback and communication and it has been a rewarding experience.

Principal Nurun Nahar Mazumder: The leadership principles that guide me focus on fostering collaboration, inclusivity, and continuous improvement. I believe in leading by example, encouraging open communication, and creating an environment where every individual—students, teachers, and staff—feels valued and respected. Empowering teachers through professional development and listening to feedback from the school community are key to building a culture of growth. Maintaining a positive and safe school environment is essential for cultivating mutual respect and inspiring everyone to reach their full potential.
