University of Asia Pacific (UAP) is hosting the International Conference on Pharmaceutical and Health Sciences (ICPHS) 2024 on December 6-7, focusing on “Advancements in Pharmaceutical and Health Sciences for Sustainable Development.”
The event, organized by the Department of Pharmacy, UAP in collaboration with Universitas Sumatera Utara, Indonesia, and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, serves as a global platform for knowledge exchange among professionals in the pharmaceutical, medical, and health sciences fields.
The opening ceremony was graced by notable speakers including Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, Chairman of ICPHS 2024 and Dean of UAP’s School of Medicine, who highlighted the significance of collaboration in advancing healthcare worldwide.
Architect Mahbuba Haque, Chairman of UAP’s Board of Trustees, spoke about the importance of global cooperation in addressing healthcare challenges.
The Chief guest of the event, Md. Saidur Rahman, Secretary of the Health Services Division at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, urged the attendees to innovate and collaborate towards sustainable development in healthcare.
Prof. Dr. Qumrul Ahsan, Vice Chancellor of UAP, emphasized the significance of international collaboration in advancing healthcare and thanked every organizing member for their efforts in making the event a success.
The conference was graced by an esteemed gathering of prominent figures: Md. Nasser Shahrear Zahedee, Member, PCB; Prof. Dr. Md. Selim Reza, Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, Dhaka University; Dr. Samina Ahmed, Chairman, BCSIR and Muhammad Mahbubul Haq, Secretary, PCB; Prof. Dr. Irin Dewan, Head, Department of Pharmacy, UAP; Dr. Shihab Uddin Ahmed, Secretary, ICPHS 2024.
The conference features distinguished speakers from 10 countries including Japan, USA, China, UK, Malaysia, Pakistan, Nepal, Indonesia, Philippines, and Bangladesh. Topics covered include pharmaceutics, biotechnology, oncology, infectious diseases, pharmacy education, and allied health sciences.
On December 7, the event will conclude with a gala dinner and awards ceremony to recognize the best presenters, further cementing UAP’s commitment to advancing pharmaceutical research and fostering global academic collaboration. The conference has provided valuable networking opportunities and is expected to pave the way for future innovations in the field.
